ZZ TopKaitlyn: I didn't, but I do now. After it took me an hour to type up, I'm going to keep it handy...
I'm looking for some obscure band recommendations...got any?
Ok, it's a female singer and sounds maybe like Martha Wainwright. Yet, I went to Itunes and listened to all the clips from her new CD and didn't find it. I kind of remember some lyrics. They went something like this- "I'll move to the Roxbury tommorrow... I'll build a home from my pain" Those aren't in order and probably messed up. Anybody have a clue? I hear all Victoria's Secrets receive a monthly CD to play so maybe someone knows this one from the May, June or July CDs??
I heard a song I loved in Victoria's Secret today but have no clue who it is. Please help! I need to find it!
I'm looking for some lesser known songs/artists that I might enjoy.
To help gie you a sense of the music I like here is a list of some of my top rated songs on itunes:
Well Did You Evah - Bing Crosby & Frank Sinatra
Charmless Man - Blur
How To Save A Life - The Fray
Money To Be Made - The Hoosiers
Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley version
Mr Brightside - The Killers
Samson - Regina Spektor
Leave The Bourbon on The Shelf- The Killers
505 - Arctic Monkeys
Set The Fire To The Third Bar - Snow Patrol and Martha Wainwright
Those To Come - The Shins
Am 180 - Story One
Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt - We Are Scientists
Elevate Myself - Grandaddy
El Tango de Roxanne - Ewan McGregor
Come Pick Me Up - Ryan Adams
Long Ride Home - Patty Griffin
La Vie En Rose - Edith Piaf
Thanks for any suggestions!!I like My Morning Jacket so you are definitely on the right lines there
Also in regards to the Jeff Buckley thing I have about 22 different sogs by him already, but Hallelujah is still my favourite. I like a lot of his work but some, like Alligator Wine and Eternal life, I'm not that keen on
Can you recommend me some lesser known music?
I'm going to Martha Wainwright tommorrow. Is she any good live??
can someone explain this song to me "set the fire to the third bar" from snow patrol and martha wainwright? i understand parts, but what does "drunken men find flaws in silence mean? any help would be appreciated.thanks
does anyone know what this song is about?
Well I'm a lover of anything indie generally and alternative. I'm looking for new music to listen to. I like bands and singers such as Arcade Fire, Interpol, The Shins, Architecture in Helsinki, Bjork, Sarah Blasko, Los Campesinos!, Bloc Party, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Blue Juice, The Rakes, Sahara Hotnights, Regina Spektor, Tegan & Sara, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Grates, 1990s, Martha Wainwright, Le Tigre, Kate Havnevik, Iron & Wine, The Go! Team, The Decemberists, Death Cab For Cutie, The Concretes, Cut off your hands, Broken Social Scene, British India, Angus & Julia Stone, Belle & Sebastian etc. etc.
Anything that sounds like anything along those lines would be much appreciated. thanks in advance.
Alternative Indie long time listeners?
What songs remind you of the Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer, besides the playlists that she has? The one that reminds me most would have to be Set Fire to the Third Bar by Snow Patrol ft. Martha Wainwright. The feeling and sound portray the exact feelings of when *****SPOILERRRRRRR OF NEW MOON!!!!!!*****
Edward left Bella in the forest and the becomes heartbroken and is just laying there and Sam finds her and he says "all she is saying is 'he's gone...' " Then when Charlie explains to Alice how Bella had been this whole time or whenever Bella describes "the hole" or anything like that. This song is perfect.
Give it a listen.
Whatever songs you choose, put what book and what part it reminds you of :]
songs that remind you of Twilight series other than playlists?
what was the song and original artist called that martha wainwright sang on the secret policemans ball?
